Hi Wise Women

Hope you have been enjoying good health and are rewarding yourself with fun times.

My Week

Over the past week I’ve had the time of my life - it’s just been one big party.

I celebrated my 35 year wedding anniversary on Monday and on Friday I celebrated my brother-in-law’s birthday followed by my 55 year birthday on Saturday.

My elaborate birthday celebrations spanned the whole weekend.

Mr J and I stayed in the city at a very plush 5 star hotel and enjoyed all the spoils of residing on the executive level.

I know it may sound a little extravagant... but hey, turning 55 is quite something...

My birthday morning started with breakfast in bed (my favourite breakfast destination), followed by a trip to the city to check into our hotel and meet our children and grandchildren for a sumptuous seafood buffet lunch in the hotel’s ritzy restaurant.

The tantalising buffet selection was incredible, so many choices...

We all overindulged (as you do) particularly when it came to dessert.

Our stomachs were groaning with the overload and we were literally “stuffed”.

I vowed never to eat again...and within three hours we accepted an invitation to partake in complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the executive level function room - courtesy of the hotel.

Well, it’s difficult to knock back freebies!!

After a long, long weekend of severe over-indulgence, I’ve resigned myself to eating smaller portions from now on (I’m trying but I'm starving) as I’m still too afraid to step onto the scales until my ridiculously bloated body deflates.

My Health Report -

For those of you that have been a regular visitor to my column, you will know that I have recently been hospitalised for bowel issues and a haemorrhoidectomy. I can happily report that my plumbing is working well and my recovery has been rapid.

I visit my gastroenterologist for the first time this week since the operation and I’m pretty sure he won’t recognise my face...

(Take a moment to think about that!)

Progress Report

Carolyn 62 years young

I’m well into Carolyn’s Facial Fitness program and I am spending 15 minutes each day contorting my face for a more youthful looking me.

(People who have talked to me over the phone are visibly shocked when they see me for the first time as they say I have a young voice...).

So you can understand that I have lots of work to do but happily, I can already see some improvements!

I’m also combining Carolyn’s Skin Care System with the exercise program. The products are organic and simply divine.

My complexion is starting to take on a new dewy appearance.

Hat’s Are Hot

Last week I linked you to an online company called Budget Products as they have fabulous looking Kakadu hats.

I featured my personal favourite (a pink one) in this column and I believe it has been selling like hot cakes.

Here’s the link again

If you find a hot item – please let us know so that we can share the details with other wise women.

Hi and Welcome Wise Women

I hope you are all happy and thoroughly enjoying your lives. This is OUR time, so make the most of it girls.

My Week

This month there has been so many of my family members celebrating birthdays including my granddaughter whose 2nd birthday was on Easter Sunday and my hubby's whose birthday was last Sunday.

2 year old birthday princess

Even though my hubby turned the wonderful age of 55 he chose to have a low key celebration... but opted for a big gift.

His birthday wish was to be surrounded by his children and grandchildren and me of course (someone had to do the cooking), and share in a roast pork lunch with all the trimmings. It knew it was a truly special day because I managed to perfect the crackling on the pork.
The compliments I received were all well deserved!!

HIS other wish was for a Harley Davidson motor bike - it was a lifelong dream of his to own one and now he is finally able to tick that off his list of "things I want before I die". We collect the bike on Friday and I'm a little nervous about riding pillion with him as his last bike was a Vespa (scooter) and there is a whole lot of difference in the speed!
Wish me luck!

A big Happy Birthday to all of you who share an April birthday!!!

Mr T

This week I took my grandson, age 6 to his first dental appointment.
I'm sure it must be a daunting prospect for any child to visit the unknown, especially after hearing some of those dental horror stories in the school playground.

As we arrived at the surgery we were off to a good start - the X-Box in the waiting room was loaded and waiting for him. He had a good 10 minutes to settle down by playing the computer games before it was off to meet the DENTIST. I was feeling confident for him as Fred is also my dentist and I have complete faith in him.

My grandson (Mr T) climbed into the chair after the friendly introductions and he was given some magic dust to enable the seat to fully recline into a horizontal position. He instantly spotted the overhead TV with a children's show playing - and I could see by his expression,
that coming to the dentist has its rewards.

His teeth were carefully examined before he was given a brand new toothbrush and instructions on how to clean his teeth effectively
frontwards, backwards and top.

A few moments later and ...whooshka... the magic dust returned the chair to its original position.

As we were leaving, I noticed my grandson was wearing a smile from ear to ear, he had survived his first ever visit to the dentist and he enjoyed it!

Things have certainly changed from my first visit to the dental hospital when I was a child!

I hope that Fred saves some magic dust for me on my next visit.

Energy Balance

For those of you that have followed my past stories, you will know that I am into everything alternative. I'm willing to try anything rather than resorting to prescription drugs or surgery.

For the past few weeks I have visited Betty, my Energy Healer. When I first met her, she assessed my aura and found that it was very disappointing. I was not only out of balance, I was not even grounded! Her sessions are generous, at least 2 hours in duration.

She starts by reading and feeling my aura. I then spend at least an hour on the massage table as she caresses and pumbles my body using her gift from the 'guides'.

Without a doubt, this experience is amazing, I feel taller, more balanced and in control of my own body. After the healing session, we complete a ritual to close off the energy field and sit down to discuss the experience indepth. Betty relays messages that she receives from the powers of the universe and I can only feel humbled but absolutely amazed at the information I am receiving. I can feel my eyes widen and my jaw drop as she relays those messages to me that only I would understand! I am left speechless. Even though I understand she has been given 'a gift',
I can't explain the depth of amazement that I feel with each revelation.

I go away feeling empowered. I've changed my lifestyle, I'm more in touch with my body and I resist negative forces (I used to embrace them). I feel whole for probably the first time in my life. Sounds crazy, I know, but it works! Betty you are a wonder women.

Wise Words

EGO

If you want to reach a state of bliss,

then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue,

make a decision to relinquish the need to control,
t
he need to be approved and the need to judge.

Those are the three things ego does all the time

so be aware as they come up.

[Deepak Chopra]
